"No matter the angle and the light, I always have a superb camouflage", the American Woodcock (Scolopax Minor) in nesting and in its superb camouflage. Photo taken in spring 2019 during an American Woodcock (chicks) banding activity, done in the UDA and here in Canada for American and Canadian governments.
Of course you need pointing dogs to can find Woodcocks in the forest ground.
