Description
In French "Rapace" (rapacious) means bird of prey, and we say "Rapace" to some human too, going to see a definition it is written: "person who acts bestially, inhuman or cruel." And I would add "are also the people for who the sign of $ for them pass before the human being" and alas this world in which we live is filled with full of "Rapaces", they are all the governments of the whole world, they are the bankers, they are the businessmen, in short, they are all people for whom the money passes before the human being... I prefer the world of birds and wild animals instead of this world of humans filled with "Rapaces".
This photo of the Sharp-shinned Hawk (Accipiter striatus) was taken on April 1, 2007 while I was taking a walk with Celtick who was my first Griffon Korthals. Photo taken with my Fujifilm bridge camera of the time.
From Cornell Lab "All About Birds" website.
"Songbirds make up about 90 percent of the Sharp-shinned Hawk’s diet. Birds the size of American Robins or smaller (especially warblers, sparrows, and thrushes) are the most frequent prey; bigger birds are at less risk, though they’re not completely safe. Studies report quail, shorebirds, doves, swifts, woodpeckers, and even falcons as prey. Sharp-shins also eat small rodents, such as mice and voles, and an occasional moth or grasshopper. While nesting, much of the food for their babies is the nestlings and fledglings of other birds."
