"The single duckling and its Mother", from the summer of 2017 they were and will stay my favorite birds from the pond not far from our home (about twenty minutes of walk), the first time I saw them and photographed it is on July 13, the last time I saw them and photographed was on the 6th of August. This picture here is the 18th of July.
When I was going to the pond the first thing it was where its that single duckling and its Mom, when I found them I spent tens of minutes with them watching and photographing them. It happened that days I could not find them in the pond, they had to be hidden somewhere, when I returned I found them again, so I was happy.
But the last time I saw and photographed them was on the 6th of August, since I did not see them again, I came to the conclusion that the duckling went through predation.

Such a touching story and beautiful picture, LF I hope she will have better luck with her duckling chicks next year. Perhaps this was her first year of motherhood and she has learned some tricks to evade predators for the next season, FL You are right, nature can be treacherous.
